Song Essay...

Eventhough Tupac Shakur was a "Jail Bird", he often rapped influencial music to inspire his fellow black people and people who are being or have descriminated against in general to fight for their rights.Tupac was just another black man caught up in the mix of racial descrimination. He was born in Harlem,NY to a black panther ,Afeni Shakur.Since the beggining of his life,Tupac was looking at life in a more critical way than most children his age did.In one of Tupac's most popular songs "changes" He uses Sound,Imagery, and perspective to send a message about liveing a black man's life in the 90s.

The Two main forms of sound tupac uses is Repitition and rhyme."I see no changes." He constantly repeats this phrase i think to constantly remind the listener of what he sees in the world and how nothing is changeing."It aint a secret, dont conceal the facts, the penetentiarys packed, and its filled with blacks."This and many of the other verses in his song are just examples of rhyme in his songs

"Changes" alltogether gives imagery to the listener, it mostly appeals to the senses of sight and hear."Comin back after all these years,rat-tat-tat-tat thats the way it is..." This verse appeals to the sense of hearing using onamonapia, you can basically hear the gun shots when he says it."First ship'em dope and let'em deal the brothers, give'em guns step back watch'em kill eachother." This line appeals to the sense of sight to me because i can picture a young boy given a gun and shooting someone and selling dope on the corner.

Tupac puts his perspective in "Changes" to open or eyes to the things that were happening during that era."Cops give a damn about a negro, pull the trigga kill a nigga he's a hero."Tupac believed whenever a white man would kill a black man they would be praised for doing so ."Its time to fight back thats what Huey said,Two shots in the dark now Hueys died" Tupac basically said because Huey spoke up and encouraged black people to fight back ,that he got assissinated.

Tupac Shakur uses the art form of perspective ,imagery , and sound to appeal to people world-wide and inform them about living life as someone the cops are constantly trying to convict.Tupac uses rhyme and repitition to present sound in his songs to appeal to his listeners.Images is something that you can picture throughout his whole song because of the thing he says and the way he says it.Tupac puts his perspective in his song to hopefully have his listeners see the world like he does or at least consider that he is stating are actually happening in the world.

Mini Research Paper

According to the majority of the class ,most people think that the stereotypes of african american women are true.Out of the five people I interviewed four people said that the stereotypes are true
.One person i interviewed was Mierra Isaac ,she is one of the four that believe that the stereotypes are true."because most black women aren't successful while most white are." Mierra believes these are just one of the few general stereotypes that are true. One of the students
believe that the stereotypes aren't true.My classmate Ruby claimes "To most extent there are plenty of women that break away from their stereotype." She understands that in past research that an african american in general does not have the same success rate as a caucasian man or women. Three of the people i interviewed did realize that there were stereotypes out there but didnt express their opinion in which if they were true or not.According to my research, they had mixed feeling about whether or not they were true and some people did aknowledge that there were stereotypes out in the world but didnt really have an opinion because the questrion was to brode.
