The prohibition Era started January 16,1920.Capone went into hiding because he thought that he would be tried for the murder of Mcswiggins,and was nowhere in sight for about three months.Capone then realized that he couldnt live his whole rest of his life in hiding so he came out.In 1926,when capone came out in hiding he finnaly negotiated his surrender to the chicago police to face the trial of the murder of McSwiggins.When trialed for it the chicago officials realized they had lacked sufficient evidence to properly accuse him of the murder.
