NHD Annotation 2

CAPONE,AL by:Funk & Wagnalls New Encyclopediahttp://www.history.com/encyclopedia.do?articleId=204634 Oct. 7 2008'

Summary: IN 1925 he took over Chicago organization tht involved illegal liquor, gambling, and prostitution from the gangster Jonny

Torrio 1882 - 1970. in the next couple of years he eleminating his fueding gangs by a series of gang wars culminating in the St. Valentine’s Day massacre of 1929, which won him control of Chicago’s underworld. Convicted of income tax evasion in 1931 and sentenced to 11 years in prison, he was released in 1939 and spent the rest of his life an invalid, crippled by syphilis.

This article was helpful with my project because it showed me the specific years that the events happened for instance the St. Valentine Day Massacre.I still believe that the article was created or written for young adults-adults because gang affileation is basically a grown or mature topic to talk about.

OK, you have to start focusing on how Capone changed history. Were laws changed? What impact did he have on popular culture or American identity?
